Help Center & FAQ

Everything you need to know about Odisha admissions, simplified.

What is the difference between OJEE and JEE Main for B.Tech?

**JEE Main** is a national-level exam used for admission into NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. In Odisha, all state government engineering colleges and private universities also use JEE Main ranks for 85% of their seat intake. **OJEE** (Odisha Joint Entrance Examination) is used for B.Pharm, MBA, MCA, and Lateral Entry courses. *Note:* For B.Tech admission, you appear in JEE Main but participate in OJEE Counselling.

Is an Income Certificate mandatory for all scholarship schemes?

Yes, for most government scholarship schemes like **Prerana (Post-Matric)** and **Medhabruti**, an Income Certificate issued after April 1st of the current academic year is mandatory. Typically, families with an annual income below ₹2.5 Lakhs (for ST/SC) or ₹8 Lakhs (for General/OBC) are eligible. Check specific scheme details on the Odisha State Scholarship Portal.

What are the 'Green Card' and 'Ex-Servicemen' quotas?

The **Green Card (GC)** quota is available for wards of parents who have undergone permanent sterilization (family planning). The **Ex-Servicemen (ES)** quota is for wards of retired or deceased defense personnel from Odisha. Both quotas offer significant relaxation in rank cutoffs in government engineering and medical colleges.

What documents are required for rank-based reservation in OJEE?

Standard documents for verification include: 10th & 12th Marksheet, JEE/OJEE Rank Card, Residential/Nativity Certificate (mandatory for state quota), Category Certificate (ST/SC/OBC), and Income Certificate (for TFW candidates).

Can I get a refund of my part-admission fee if I withdraw?

Yes, but strictly within the timeframes mentioned in the admission brochure (typically before the final round of counselling). Refund amounts may vary depending on when you withdraw from the seat allotment process.
